茶園生態：螽斯　The Tea Garden Ecology: Katydid

時值春天，只要上山，向晚時分就會聽到山裡的茶園有嘶嘶聲響，有時大聲、有時輕柔，這是螽斯。

螽斯，是直翅目昆蟲中的一科，世上已知的有六千多種；分類學上，牠還是蟋蟀的表哥。

遇到危急時，牠可以快速彈跳，但重要的是，惟沒有農藥，大自然才是牠安生立命的「家 」。

 

In spring, if you go up the mountain, you will hear a hissing, sometimes loud,
sometimes soft noise from the tea garden. It is from a katydid.

A Katydid is part of the Orthopterainsect family.
This family includes more than 6,000 known species in the world.

Taxonomically speaking, it is also the cousin of the cricket species.

In a period of crisis, it can bounce quickly. But what’s more important

is that only without pesticides it can survive in its natural habitat.
